At Moshi Street Kids Academy, we are committed to breaking the cycle of poverty through accessible, inclusive, and quality education. Our academic programs are designed specifically for children and youth from vulnerable backgrounds, especially those who have experienced life on the streets. Education is not just a right—it's a foundation for opportunity, dignity, and long-term success.

Program Overview

Our academic initiative focuses on foundational learning, academic catch-up, and transition support for formal schooling or vocational training. We aim to create a safe, structured, and encouraging learning environment that meets learners where they are.

Subjects Offered

  • Literacy and Language Skills (Kiswahili and English)

  • Mathematics and Numeracy

  • Science and Environmental Studies

  • Civic Education and Life Skills

  • Basic ICT and Digital Literacy

  • Arts and Creative Expression (integrated into learning)

Levels of Education

We provide learning support at various academic levels:

1. Bridge Classes (Catch-Up Learning)

  • For children who have been out of school for extended periods

  • Personalized learning plans based on individual assessments

2. Primary Education Support

  • Support for children currently enrolled in or transitioning into primary school

  • Focus on reading, writing, math, and life skills

3. Secondary Education Prep

  • Academic reinforcement for students preparing for or enrolled in secondary school

  • Exam preparation, tutoring, and learning guidance

4. Functional Literacy for Older Youth

  • Focus on basic reading, writing, numeracy, and problem-solving skills

  • Life skills and workplace communication for daily living and employment

Learning Approaches

  • Individualized Support: Lessons are tailored to meet each student’s pace and level

Recruitment of Learners

We work closely with local communities, NGOs, and outreach programs to identify and enroll children who are out of school or have dropped out. Our program is free and inclusive, with a focus on meeting learners' academic and psychosocial needs.
