About Moskisa

Moshi Street Kids Soccer Academy is the leading football academy in Kilimanjaro.

Moskisa charitable organization established in 2017 aiming to give life-changing opportunities to talented children, away from street-related predicaments that hinder their growth and development. The idea of street children at MOSKISA is parallel with that definition of UNICEF (2012) which refers to the community of children who spend most of their time on the streets, out of school and out of homes, to work, play, sleep, and eat.

Street Kids can be categories into Full time; children who live in streets and hardly have family ties, they move from town to town, place to place, night after night to sleep and search for food and shelter. Another group is part-time Street children who are the children on the street who engage in social and economic activities during the day and the majority of them return home at the end of the day.

At the moment we host part-time street related children who participate in numerous physical and tactical training programs and in the evening return to their home. However, there is a majority group of full-time street children whom we find difficult to nurture their growth and development mentally, psychologically and nutritionally due to lack of a facility accommodate them full time.

Pivot Problem

Street children have many struggles such as poor access to education/training facilities, poor access to a balanced diet (2 meals per day), proper accommodation, exposed to child abuse, and poor moral and psychological guidance. These scenarios for many years in our country have kept street children vulnerable putting them under social and economic pressure that forces them to take part in negative behaviors such as the use of drugs, alcohol, unprotected sex, stealing, etc. The absence of appropriate sport, social and academic support systems during their childhood (which is a critical time for child growth and development) has led to lifelong trauma and dysfunctionality to many children who have experienced the street life.

Education Sports Model.

MOSKISA is quite a unique program on the fact that we not only focus on football-related programs (physical aspect) but also focus on improving children’s academics.

Using our Education Sports Model with the program offered, all the graduates will be able to transform their lives and their community even if they don't make it into a football world.
